Stephanie Gillis
Counselling Therapist (Intern)
Stephanie is currently completing her Master of Counselling Psychology and works at the clinic as a counselling therapist (intern). With a diploma in Child and Youth Work, psychosocial training, and extensive experience supporting children and adolescents, she brings both passion and curiosity to her work with clients of all ages. Stephanie is deeply interested in the many factors that shape an individual’s wellbeing, including social, cultural, and developmental influences.

Drawing from Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioural, Psychodynamic, and experiential approaches, Stephanie integrates creative and client-centred modalities into her sessions. She often incorporates play-based strategies when working with children and youth and uses grounding art-based practices-such as pottery-to support clients of all ages in exploring their experiences in meaningful and expressive ways.

Stephanie believes that everyone deserves to be truly seen, heard, and understood. She views therapy as a space where people can reconnect with themselves with authenticity and compassion. As a developing counselling therapist, she walks alongside clients as they navigate life’s challenges, offering warmth, acceptance, and a grounded curiosity. Her goal is to create a calming and supportive environment where clients feel safe to explore, build new skills, and grow in ways that feel right for them.

While Stephanie works with individuals across the lifespan, she has a special interest in supporting children, teens, and young adults. Outside of her work, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking the beautiful trails of Prince Edward Island, snowshoeing, baking, and cooking.
