Occupational Therapist
Sophie is a Registered Occupational Therapist originally from Cape Breton, NS. Sophie completed an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at St. Francis Xavier University and then went on to complete her Masters in Occupational Therapy at Glasgow Caledonian University. Her clinical placement areas included oncology, orthopedics, dementia care and mental health.
Sophie has worked in a variety of specialty areas so far in her career. Of late, her focus has been on working with neurodiverse individuals and those who have suffered psychological trauma to support meaningful engagement in daily activity. You may find Sophie and her clients in the gym working on fitness and wellness routine-building, in the community working on emotional coping skills, or in the home focusing on independent living skills. She works with individuals across the lifespan including children, teens, adults, and seniors. She holds training in Primitive Reflexes, Sensory Modulation, Pelvic Health, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Prolonged Exposure Therapy and is able to provide services as a Clinical Case Manager. Her professional interests lie in taking a values-based approach to treatment and focusing on what matters most to her clients. In her spare time, Sophie enjoys reading, gardening, working out, and spending time with her dog.
