Donna MacLeod is the founder of Stratford Occupational Therapy and Counselling Services. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Dalhousie University in 1991 and brings over three decades of clinical experience to her work.

Donna spent 23 years practicing in Halifax, including more than a decade at the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation Centre, where she worked as part of multidisciplinary teams supporting individuals with spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, amputation, and complex orthopaedic and burns/plastics conditions. In 2014, she returned to her home province of Prince Edward Island, where she has since focused on private practice.

Her current work centres on supporting adults and families navigating chronic pain, concussion, brain injury, and mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, and psychological trauma, including PTSD. Donna also serves as a Clinical Care Manager for Veterans experiencing PTSD, a role that reflects her commitment to thoughtful, coordinated, and trauma-informed care.

Alongside her professional training and clinical expertise, Donna brings a deep personal understanding of the long-term impacts of injury and trauma on individuals and families. These lived experiences have shaped her compassionate, strengths-based approach and continue to fuel her desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves.

Donna values collaboration and is passionate about working within integrated care teams. She is continually inspired by the resilience, adaptability, and growth she witnesses in clients as they navigate life-altering experiences.

She is also enthusiastic about incorporating creative and sensory-based approaches into therapy, including the use of pottery as a grounding, mindful, and regulating modality for mental health and trauma work. Outside of practice, Donna enjoys making pottery, spending time in nature, gardening, baking, adventuring, and being with her family.
