Alicia Jameson

Occupational Therapist

Alicia is a registered Occupational Therapist on PEI who graduated with her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2014 from Dalhousie University. She spent the first two years of her career in hospital and community settings working in Inpatient Physical Medicine, Inpatient Psychiatry, Hand Therapy, Post-Stroke Community Care, Long Term Care, and Physical and Cognitive Rehabilitation. For the last decade, Alicia has worked in the field of mental health Occupational Therapy, primarily with adolescents and their families, and in virtual (telehealth) sleep consulting with children (birth to age 5) and their families. Throughout her years as an OT, her focus has been on maintaining a holistic approach addressing daily occupations through the domains of biological, emotional, regulation, environmental, sensory processing and developmental stages.

Alicia’s primary training and experience is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, In-Vivo Exposure Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and group facilitation. She holds additional training and experience in sensory processing, exposure response prevention, ADHD/executive functioning, self- and co-regulation, early psychosis intervention, and neuro-affirming and trauma-informed care.

Alicia’s Occupational Therapy practice is grounded in the development of strong therapeutic relationships with her clients rooted in trust and honesty, while acknowledging the need for acceptance, change and validation. She is passionate about coaching her clients towards their functional and meaningful goals in areas that are most important to them! In her (not-so) spare time, Alicia enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children, going to the beach, reading, and coaching basketball!
